First of all, I want to wish all my friends and family a happy 2012. Who can believe it's a new year -- not me! I also can't believe I retired 2 years ago this month!!! Good thing I have pictures to refresh my memory as to how much fun 2011 was. There are many new pictures that Bob was so kind as to upload to this site for me, so, please enjoy browsing through them.
My part-time job at the newly-located law firm of Striegel & Buchheister is going well - last October, we moved our law office from North Beach (.4 miles away) to right here in Bay Crest, where I live. I now have a 4 second commute. How great is that?
My attorney for whom I work, Lyn, owns a unit here at Bay Crest and has wanted to return to Bay Crest for awhile - but her position on the North Beach Town Council prohibited that move from North Beach until her Council term was up. We are happy to have her back here, where she belongs, along with her sweetie, Jim, and we are also happy campers working in Lyn's newly-renovated and gorgeous office. Congratulations to Lyn on her move.
Since I last wrote you, all our grandchildren continue to grow and prosper. Our youngest is June (St. Louis), who was born in April. We keep in close touch with her progress through Facebook pictures and recently, some hilarious videos. Bob's daughter, Chris, and her husband, Roger, who live about 40 minutes away in Odenton, MD, are both very, very busy with our other 3 grandchildren. Our oldest, Nicholas, turned 10 this year; Emily turned 7; and Zachary turned 3. What a crew. You'll see pics of them sprinkled around under the "Family" button.
Bob and I, along with our two nieces, Lisa and Annie, have enjoyed our usual two trips to Las Vegas this year (March and September) and are looking forward to celebrating my brother, Allen's, birthday in Las Vegas in January 2012. Great photo ops coming up! There will be 9 family members joining us - they are coming from MO, MD and TX.
We also enjoyed a wonderful visit to our niece, Anne's, home in Springfield, MO last July. Naturally, Anne's sister, Lisa, from TX joined us. During this long-overdue visit to see Anne & Kerry's farm, we were privileged to finally meet all of Anne's and Kerry's good friends, got to know our great niece and great nephews better, visited with Pat Clay, whom I hadn't seen in 30-some years (who is Anne & Lisa's mom), and, to top it all off, we had a lovely b-b-q with some down-home Midwest meats excellently prepared by Kerry. And it goes without saying that there was some quality gambling thrown in for good measure.
